Personal Project

Choose a personal project or goal that you can work on independently. This exercise promotes autonomy and self-reliance while allowing you to develop skills and explore interests on your own. We suggest that you choose your project on your own* and minimize how much you share with others (to avoid seeking external validation), though it certainly doesn't need to be a secret!

*choosing the project without the influence of your peers is important for this exercise, however if you need some inspiration, have a look below:


1. Learn a Musical Instrument: Challenge yourself to learn to play a musical instrument of your choice. Dedicate regular practice time to develop your skills and explore the joy of creating music independently.

2. Start a Blog or Journal: Engage in personal expression by starting a blog or journal. Write about your thoughts, experiences, or areas of interest, allowing yourself the freedom to explore and document your individual perspectives.

3. Fitness or Wellness Challenge: Embark on a personal fitness or wellness challenge. Set specific goals, such as running a marathon, practicing yoga daily, or improving your overall fitness level, and work on them independently, tracking your progress along the way.

4. Creative Art Project: Dive into a creative endeavor, such as painting, drawing, or sculpting. Set aside time to unleash your artistic expression and explore your creative potential without seeking external validation.

5. Personal Development Book Club: Engage in self-guided personal development by choosing a series of books that align with your interests and goals. Create your own book club and explore these resources independently, allowing yourself the space to reflect and grow.

6. Explore a New Hobby: Choose a hobby that you've always wanted to try, such as photography, cooking, gardening, or woodworking. Dedicate time to learn and develop your skills independently, embracing the joy of pursuing a passion on your own.

7. Writing a Short Story or Poetry Collection: Challenge yourself to write a short story or a collection of poems. Allow your creativity to flow and explore different themes, narratives, or emotions. Embrace the process of self-expression and storytelling.
